Our Surgeon – Dr. Byron Young, Boarded Surgeon
Dr. Byron Young is a graduate of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed his surgical residency and Masters of Veterinary Medicine at the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine and became a board certified Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2004. Prior to joining Suncoast Veterinary Emergency & Specialty Center, he served as the Staff Surgeon with D.C. Vets Small Animal Veterinary Surgery of Northern Virginia and Maryland. He excels in both soft tissue and orthopedic surgery and maintains special interests in reconstructive surgery, trauma surgery, and soft tissue oncologic procedures. Dr. Young is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American College of Veterinary Surgeons, the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society, and the Veterinary Society of Surgical Oncologists. He also serves as an active ACVS committee member.
